Garcia was a student at Texas Christain University after graduating from high school, for a period of three years, before moving to University of Texas. When she arrived at Texas Christain University, she experienced a highly competitive atmosphere that allowed her to develop the skills of a golfer. Angela Akin Garcia was a fantastic golfer but never imagined pursuing a career in the field of golf. She chose to pursue journalism instead. Following her graduation, she got a job at Fox Sports Southwest as a journalist.
